Amazing Adventures of Scout & Scamp

Oh my... today marks 5 amazing/wonderful months of being with the Beau. My decreased Blogger activity indicates my increased level of adventures... call it an indirect relationship in my direct relationship :-)

I got the nickname Scamp on our most recent 4th of July weekend trip to the City of Rocks. It was my first time to the City and couldn't have asked for a better tour guide! I've yet to master the art of rock climbing, but I'm bound & determined to learn! I had fun doing some friction climbing on Practice Rock (the ultimate climb ;-) and Elephant Rock. Instead of taking the professional approach to climbing down, I prefer to scamper down; hence the new nickname. Other names include: carrot, hot stuff, grandma (not grossly intended, I just have premature senior moments), etc.

After the ex, I was a bit skeptical/bitter/apprehensive about finding a person that embodied every wonderful thing I imagine in a partner. Let's just say A LOT of trial and error occurred. Little did I know, I had already met this man 4-5 years earlier during my undergrad studies. We'll see how things go... but things have been sooo EASY thus far. I remember people telling me, "If it's right, you don't have to work hard." That was always a mystery statement to me... of COURSE you need to work at a relationship, but I now know things aren't hard if both parties are trying. Never stop trying :-) Trying to be a better person, trying new things/adventures, and trying to work together instead of doing everything on one's own. It's pretty kickass!

Next Adventure: weekend backpacking trip in the Sawtooths. The weather is slated to be beautiful :-) Blue has become a most EXCELLENT companion (now that he has his own pack)! The last backpacking trip we took, Blue packed in his dog food, pistacios, and a six-pack of beer... how cool is that! Why weigh my pack down with beer weight when I could have Blue pack all my necessary beverage requirements?!? You're my boy Blue!!!

Vive le Amazing Adventures of Scout & Scamp!
