Friends & Lovers

Things have been pretty hunky dory lately. Been picking up the pace (literally) on the running... Sawtooth Relay is coming up and we'll see if I'll be able to walk after 2 grueling legs of hardcore, extreme Sawtooth Relay running. I figure as long as somebody can prop me up against the beer table at the post-race party, then I can drink away any sort of post-race aches and pains :-)

The reality of Elle's upcoming wedding vows is starting to hit home... tried on "THE" bridesmaid's dresses this past week and was pretty satisfied. I have honestly never, ever worn a strapless ANYTHING out in public... so I was pretty skeptical when I first saw the chosen dress. My fears were soon settled when I had the dress on (after I got the right size)! Less than 6 months away!!

I refrained from having a HUGE, blog bitchfest a couple of weeks ago concerning the Beau's lovely roommate. This dude is a total mystery to me and I have yet to figure him out. When I didn't want to do something, he blurted out that the Beau's ex LOVED to do that. THEN I find out that he was the person who was trying to convince other friends that it would be uncomfortable for EVERYONE else if I went with the Beau to the Shakespeare Festival with the rest of the group because SHE (the ex) would be there and since she had her tix first, then she had priority over me.

It's kind of weird for me to be the new kid on the block (Jonathan was my fave). I forgot that to be part of a couple includes not only my friends/family, but his as well. With my Ex, I was always part of his life when we met his friends and his friends' new girlfriends. I never had to fill anybody else's shoes! It's a definite transition to not only be in a relationship (the 2nd major one in my life), but to also be the "new kid". Everybody I've met seems pretty cool, so we'll see how it all unfolds. Even though I'm in the land of "Coupledom" with the Beau, friends will always come into play. BTW - tomorrow marks 4 months; WOWZA ZOWZA! Never thought I'd be in this position last year :-)
